Updated PostAlthough the Lake Entrance Bowls Club is still a good feed and value for money, the menu, and in fact the name has changed since this article was orginally posted. It is now known as Zephyr Cafe / Restaurant. Unfortunately, a lot of the Asian meals have been taken away - I am still upset about the loss of the $16 curry. The more traditional coutry style Australian meals are prepared nice and in generous proportions. Meals include char grilled steaks, seafood, schnitzels, American Pork Spare Ribs and pastas. Original PostWe can't recommend the The Bistro on the Green, at the Lakes Entrance Bowls club for a meal highy enough. It truely is one of the better places to eat in town. The bistro offers a mixture of Australian meals - including your steaks and parmas, but also authentic Asian fare. I can personally recommend the steak with pepper sauce, and the thai red chicken curry. The curry can't be beaten for value at around $16! Other things on the menu include:
If you are eating there on a bowling competition day, I recommend booking in advance as it does get very busy. If you are just rocking up and they are full, its not all bad. You can go around into the bar and have a drink, and you will be given a little buzzer which will go off when a table is available. Bistro hours: Convenience Another good thing about the Lakes Bowls Club is that it is only about a 10 minute stroll from the Tanjil Holiday House. You can have a couple of drinks, and it is a breeze to make your way home.
