Kitchen Renovations

UPDATE:

Renovations are now complete.  To see the new kitchen follow the link below.  We are really happy with it - I hope our new and returning guests also find it a much needed improvement to the holiday house.

Now that the bathroom has been completed, the next project is.... The Kitchen! Yes, thats right, the kitchen is getting a well deserved makeover. 

As you know, we have Tanjil Holiday House guestbook on the property - soon to be upgraded to a full online version on this very site! Stay tuned, but I digress - and the most commented room in the house is the the Kitchen/Meals area. And believe it or not - not all of the comments are complementary! It has been described as a 'horror movie', and 'the only let-down in this superb rental accommodation'. So... the time has come.

Peels - Stormbird Cruise PDF Print E-mail

The Peels Stormbird Cruise is a great way to orientate yourself with the general Lakes Entrance and Metung area.  The duration of the cruise is about 4 hours and it includes a 2 course meal at the Metung Hotel for lunch.  You get a bit of time to yourself in Metung, so enjoy a couple of cold ones with lunch at the pub, and go for a bit of a wander around the township and marina.

Tambo River - Near The Mouth

The Tambo River is synonymous with Bream fishing.  One of the best places that we have found for bream is the mouth of the Tambo River.

Although the Lake Entrance Bowls Club is still a good feed and value for money, the menu, and in fact the name has changed since this article was orginally posted.  It is now known as Zephyr Cafe / Restaurant.  Unfortunately, a lot of the Asian meals have been taken away - I am still upset about the loss of the $16 curry.  

The more traditional coutry style Australian meals are prepared nice and in generous proportions.  Meals include char grilled steaks, seafood, schnitzels,  American Pork Spare Ribs and pastas.
